We are a middle-aged couple who were once known as the "Wilderness Family of Fiordland", when we lived on an island in Doubtful Sound with our children. Don, who enjoyed fishing, wanted a change from the stress of his profession and city life, and decided to try crayfishing. After a few years of crayfishing he then skippered the F.D.I. boat to West Arm. F.D.I. was a consortium of American, Austrian and New Zealand companies that built the second tail-race tunnel for the Manapouri Power Station at West Arm, which finished in June 2002.
We, with Millie and Archie, ( our lovely Bearded Collie and Lowchen Dogs) look forward to welcoming you to our home and helping you explore Fiordland.
Your hosts,
Don and Joy
